The Mary E. Walker Center (MEWC) is a state-of-the-art facility that provides a broad range of comprehensive services to our beneficiaries. Services include: Family Practice, same day and routine appointments from infants to all ages, focused disease specific educational sessions, minor surgeries, coordination of the local Ft. Irwin Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, comprehensive adult medical care (same day and Routine appointments), minor surgeries, Graded Exercise Treadmill (GET) testing, Pulmonary Function Studies, optometry, Flight Medicine, Immunization and Allergy Clinic services, Pharmacy Tricare/Managed Care and Population Health services and resources.
The MEWC also provides School and Sport Physicals as well as Active Duty (AD) Retirement, School, and Commission Nominee Physicals to the community.
The facility is proudly named after Dr. Mary E. Walker, a graduate of the Syracuse Medical College who went on to earn the Congressional Medal of Honor for her work as a surgeon and healer during the American Civil War. She is one of only eight civilians ever to be awarded the medal and the only woman to do so.
