Command Sgt. Major Roberto Marshall is the Presidio of Monterey garrison command sergeant major as of August 16, 2016.

CSM Roberto Marshall entered the Army on June 8, 1992 and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, SC and the 31D Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) Operator’s course at Fort Gordon, GA.

CSM Marshall has served in numerous leadership positions including: MSE Transmission Systems Supervisor in A CO. 122nd Signal Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea; Transmission System Supervisor in 286th Signal Company at Fort Bliss, TX; Transmission Section Supervisor in B CO. 82nd Signal Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC; Cable Platoon Sergeant in B CO. 304th Signal Battalion at Camp Long, Korea; Contingency Communications Package Platoon Sergeant in B CO. 82nd Signal Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC and a deployment with 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division in support of OIF, Iraq; Assault Command Post PSG and 1SG in D Company 82nd Signal Battalion at Fort Bragg, NC; 1SG in C CO. 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Special Troops Battalion and a deployment with 508th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division in support of OEF Afghanistan; S-5 Operations CSM at USASMA, Fort Bliss, TX, CSM for Special Troops Battalion, 2D Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1AD, Fort Bliss, TX, CSM for 86th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Fort Bliss, TX and Company SGM for the Theater Signal Support Company, 112th Signal Battalion (SO)(A), Fort Bragg, NC.

CSM Marshall’s military education includes PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC, 1SG Course, SMC Class 59; Equal Opportunity Representative; Airborne; Air Movement; Jumpmaster; Senior Enlisted Joint PME Course and the Contracting Officer Representative Course. CSM Marshall currently holds a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Cyber-security from Excelsior College.

His awards and decorations include: The Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4 BOLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 SOLC), the Army Achievement Medal (1 SOLC and 1 BOLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 Campaign Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal with 2 Campaign Stars, the Signal Core Regimental Association Bronze Order of Mercury Medallion, and the order of Saint Barbara Medallion.
