The non-profit Advanced Energy focuses on energy-efficiency in industrial process technologies, motors and drives testing, and applied building science, with state-of-the-art laboratories in which to do testing and applied research. Advanced Energy offers consulting, testing, and training.
Affordable Comfort
It is the purpose of Affordable Comfort, Inc. to promote resource efficiency, comfort, and affordability in buildings. This will be done particularly through educational, training, and charitable activities aimed at the use of energy in the residential sector, including the Affordable Comfort Conference. It will promote the general health and welfare of society.
Alliance to Save Energy
The Alliance is a coalition of prominent business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders who promote the efficient and clean use of energy worldwide to benefit consumers, the environment, economy, and national security.
American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE)
ACEEE explores the frontiers of energy policy and energy efficiency by listing various ACEEE publications, research reports, and providing descriptions and access for ordering copies. Includes legislative alerts, conference information, press releases and access to information about ACEEE (mission statement, descriptions of program areas, etc.) and has links to other energy-efficiency related sites.
California Institute for Energy Efficiency
An innovative University of California partnership of energy agencies, utilities, building industry, non-profits, and research entities designed to advance energy efficiency science and technology for the benefit of California and other energy consumers and the environment. CIEE is a branch of the University of California Energy Institute.
Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST)
A project of the Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation, this site provides links to information regarding energy efficiency as it relates to buildings, appliances and lighting. Also has information on case studies, energy audits for school, financial information on investing in energy efficiency, and provides links to other, related resources.
Center for Resourceful Building Technology (CRBT)
CRBT is a project of the National Center for Appropriate Technology, NCAT. CRBT is dedicated to promoting environmentally responsible practices in construction. It works to serve as both catalyst and facilitator in encouraging building technologies which realize a sustainable and efficient use of resources.
Civil Engineering Research Foundation (CERF)
CERF is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, created by ASCE, focused on advancing the design and construction industry through innovation. In collaboration with the construction, engineering, design and environmental industries, CERF promotes and facilitates the advancement of innovation to improve productivity. In particular, CERF operates innovative technology programs to speed the use of innovation into practice in the areas of transportation, public works, infrastructure security, energy systems and applications, materials, IT and the environment. CERF is headquartered in Washington, DC.
Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE)
CEE, a national, non-profit public benefits corporation, promotes the manufacture and purchase of energy-efficient products and services. Our goal is to induce lasting structural and behavioral changes in the marketplace, resulting in the increased adoption of energy-efficient technologies.
Energy-Efficient Builders Association (EEBA)
EEBA is an international non-profit group dedicated to fostering energy efficient design and construction, and environmentally responsible development practices that provide quality living environments. EEBA promotes environmentally respectful development through dissemination of information, conducting training and providing "Criteria" for use by the housing industry, consumers and governmental agencies.

Greenpeace - Greenfreeze Project
"A Revolution in Domestic Refrigeration". This site contains background information about Greenpeace's campaign to counter the misinformation of the chemical industry, and to inform developing countries about the availability and the merits of hydrocarbon based 'Greenfreeze' technology. Greenpeace, along with an increasing number of engineers and scientists, maintains that the future of environmentally safer refrigeration lies with natural substances, such as hydrocarbons, CO2, ammonia, water, air. NW Energy Coalition
The NW Energy Coalition is an alliance of nonprofit organizations, utilities, and businesses from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and British Columbia. The site features numerous articles and fact sheets on energy conservation and renewable energy resources, affordable energy, and fish and wildlife restoration on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.
International Directory of Energy-Efficiency Institutions
The World Energy Efficiency Association (WEEA), as part of its mission to encourage communication among like-minded institutions, is pleased to release this third edition of the International Directory of Energy Efficiency Institutions. There are, quite literally, thousands of institutions working to improve energy efficiency. We have tried in this Directory to identify some of the more prominent institutions working toward this common goal. This list includes government agencies, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, international financial institutions, and private firms. We make no claim to be stewards of a comprehensive list; we only offer a sampling of institutions of whose programs we are aware.

Rocky Mountain Institute is a nonprofit research and educational foundation which conducts research and publishes reports on a wide variety of topics, such as Energy, Water, Economic Renewal, Agriculture, Global Security, Green Development, Transportation and Hypercars.
Sierra Club - Global Warming & Energy
The Sierra Club is America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization, working to promote solutions to global warming using current and cutting-edge technology that will reduce our use of fossil fuels. By switching to energy efficient cars and trucks, and clean, renewable energy, we can curb global warming pollution, save consumers money and curtail our reliance on oil.
Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)
This international institute for environmental technology and management was established by the Swedish Parliament in 1989 as an independent Foundation for the purpose of carrying out global and regional environmental research. SEI is active in international initiatives on environment and development issues. There's a world of information here on their various centers, their research programs, publications, etc.
Tellus Institute for Resource and Environmental Strategies
Tellus Institute is a non-profit research and consulting organization that promotes rational, equitable and sustainable resource management. The Institute conducts studies on environment, resource, and development issues at the global, national, state, local and enterprise levels. The Institute develops and applies analytical methods, works to strengthen human and institutional capacity, and provides support to government, multi-lateral, and non-governmental institutions and businesses.
U.S. Energy Association
The United States Energy Association (USEA) is the U.S. Member Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC). USEA is an association of public and private energy-related organizations, corporations, and government agencies. USEA represents the broad interests of the U.S. energy sector by increasing the understanding of energy issues, both domestically and internationally.
World Energy Council
The World Energy Council (WEC) is the foremost global multi-energy organization in the world today. WEC has Member Committees in over 90 countries, including most of the largest energy-producing and energy consuming countries. The 81-year-old organization covers all types of energy, including coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear, hydro, and renewables, and is UN-accredited, non-governmental, non-commercial and non-aligned. WEC is a UK-registered charity headquartered in London. WEC Services Limited was established in 2001 as the incorporated trading subsidiary of WEC.
World Energy Efficiency Association
The World Energy Efficiency Association (WEEA) is an international organization that assists developing and re-industrializing countries by serving as a clearinghouse for information on energy efficiency programs, technologies and measures, and by publicizing international cooperation efforts in energy efficiency worldwide.
