Local communities around the Puget Sound are working to integrate local efforts to advance the Action Agenda. Local governments, tribes, non-profit organizations, watershed, marine resource, and salmon recovery groups, interest groups, businesses, educational organizations, and citizens are collaborating to develop and coordinate local integrating organizations that foster implementation of Action Agenda priorities.

The local integrating organizations enable communities to guide the implementation of Action Agenda priorities at an ecosystem scale, and to prioritize local actions for investment.

2-year Recovery Planning

LIOs are currently working to identify local near-term ecosystem recovery priorities through the development of 2-year recovery plans. These plans mirror and contribute to development of the 2016 Puget Sound Action Agenda, describing how LIO actions are helping to achieve regional progress on the Action Agenda’s 22 Vital Signs.

5-year Recovery Planning

Between now and September 2016, LIOs are also working to build local, long-term recovery strategies from which high-priority recovery actions can be developed. Similar to the 2-year plans, these 5-year plans will mirror and contribute to Puget Sound Action Agenda updates and explain how LIOs are helping to advance regional progress on the Action Agenda’s 22 Vital Signs.
