SCIENCE BASIS OF RECOVERY
Scientific advice and review, scientific synthesis, and strategic investments in research, modeling, and monitoring contribute to the science basis for Puget Sound ecosystem recovery.
The Puget Sound Partnership’s approach to strategic science planning, adaptive management, and decision support are introduced through several tools and guiding documents:
- Strategic Science Plan
- Biennial Science Work Plan
- Adaptive Management Framework
- Open Standards
- Science-based decisionmaking
- Puget Sound Pressures Assessment
While the Puget Sound Partnership Science Panel and Science & Evaluation Program coordinate the science-based recovery of the Puget Sound ecosystem, scientific contributions come from many individuals and institutions across all sectors.
In 2009 and 2010, the Partnership commissioned scientists to prepare the peer-reviewed Puget Sound Science Review, a synthesis now presented as a key feature of the Encyclopedia of Puget Sound.
