Details on PPS FTP access for GPM and TRMM data

 

All new users must complete a simple registration process by providing an email address and optional contact and "area of interest" information.   Click below to register for the PPS data archive and STORM access, and please follow the instructions:

Please note that you will be prompted to provide your user name and password to access the archive. Use your registered email address as your user name and as your password.  See the example below.

 

 

If you have provided information to PPS/TSDIS in the past (i.e: If you are a PPS science user, development partner, etc.) your email is already registered and you do not have to provide any further information. For example; if you are a registered PPS science user, TSDIS science user, already have an ftp and STORM account, or have a developer's account on one of our servers, no registration action is required.  Just enter your email address as your username and password when prompted after going to:

ftp://arthurhou.pps.eosdis.nasa.gov

 

Warning : There is known compatibility issue with the Mac OSX Safari web browser and how it cannot resolve the ftp login challange on our arthurhou and other ftp servers such as PPS's GPM NRT server jsimpson.  PPS web development and system programming staff currently recommend that Mac OS users use Mozilla's Firefox web browser or the Google Chrome web browser for full compatibility when visiting these ftp sites via a web browser on a Mac OS system. PPS will continue to investigate this issue.
