Wildlife Program

      Wildlife Program

Riparian ecosystems provide critically important habitat for many species of wildlife along the lower Colorado River. The LCR MSCP Wildlife Program provides valuable information for the conservation, monitoring, and management of 22 LCR MSCP terrestrial covered and evaluation species. Guilds of species include five terrestrial riparian birds, three marsh birds, two reptiles, three amphibians, three small rodents, four bats, one insect, and two plants. The Wildlife Program is designed to effectively study and monitor these species and incorporate the results into management of created habitats. The wildlife program is responsible for monitoring and research that will provide information needed to achieve the biological goals for the LCR MSCP terrestrial covered and evaluation species.
