GranteesSince its creation in 1969, the IAF has partnered with thousands of organizations in 36 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. These IAF grantee partners work in cosmopolitan capitals and rural settings; in slums and fishing villages; in tropical forest enclaves and communities high in the Andes, where they offer disadvantaged individuals educational opportunities, legal services, health care, access to credit and training in the skills that make enterprises thrive and agriculture more profitable. Everywhere, they identify priorities for their communities and are then willing to commit their own hard-earn resources, along with their determination, creativity and goodwill. In 2011, grantees commitments of $19.5 million in cash or in kind more than matched the IAF’s investment of $14.9 million. Together the IAF and its grantee partners have improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people throughout the hemisphere.

Grantee Perception Report

In 2011 the IAF became the first federal agency to participate in the Center for Effective Philanthropy’s (CEP) grantee perception survey. Over the last nine years, CEP has surveyed more than 40,000 grantees from 273 funders. Of the active IAF grantee partners contacted 84 percent responded to the survey. This was one of the highest participation rates ever recorded by CEP and a testament to the IAF’s high level of engagement with our grantee partners. More...
