Special Call for Proposals
Americas Partnership on Social Inclusion and Equality
Posted Date: 12/19/2012

BR-happinessThrough a partnership with the U.S. Department of State and the Americas Partnership on Social Inclusion and Equality (APSIE), the IAF invites proposals to work with traditionally marginalized populations on innovative approaches to build capacity to access economic and educational opportunities and to promote inclusive policies and practices. Specifically, resources will be provided to:

  • Develop innovative solutions to access and opportunity challenges faced by African descendants, indigenous communities, women, LGBT persons, and people with disabilities;
  • Empower citizens to find and develop concrete ways to address multiple forms of discrimination (including racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental disabilities) through approaches that may include education, civic engagement, and/or economic empowerment.

In the first phase of this project, resources will go toward initiatives proposed by organizations based in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Guatemala and Jamaica.

Resources to support programs through this initiative are limited. Among the criteria considered in its evaluation, the IAF looks for counterpart contributions from the proponent, the beneficiaries and other sources.

For additional information on how to submit a proposal, please go to our Call for Proposals. Please note in your response to the question, “How did you hear about the IAF?” that you are applying under the IAF-APSIE call for proposals.”
