Every FAA investment program is classified by investment type and then categorized based on cost, complexity, risk, safety, security, and political sensitivity.
Who Does It
The sponsoring service organization recommends an acquisition category to the Acquisition Executive Board early in the concept and requirements definition phase.
Who Approves
The Acquisition Executive Board makes the determination and notifies the Joint Resources Council via the JRC Secretariat.
