FHFB ANNUAL FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA) REPORTS

Every year by February 1st, the Federal Housing Finance Board submits a report to the U.S. Department of Justice on its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program.  The annual FOIA report, which covers the prior fiscal year (October 1- September 30), includes information on the number of FOIA requests and appeals the Finance Board received, how long it took to process those requests and appeals, and how often the Finance Board withheld information under a FOIA exemption.

FHFB FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT IMPROVEMENT PLAN

In December 2005, the President issued Executive Order 13392, which is intended to improve agency disclosure of information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).  The Executive Order required the Finance Board to review its FOIA operations and, based on that review, to develop a FOIA improvement plan that will make the processing of FOIA requests more streamlined and effective and increase public awareness of FOIA processing.  The Finance Board has completed its review and developed a FOIA Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2006 and 2007.  You can view the Finance Board’s FOIA Improvement Plan, which was adopted on May 23, 2006, by clicking here.
