The S.C. Army National Guard (SCARNG) Construction and Facilities Management Office (FMO-ENV) is home to the agency´s GIS group.
The GIS group primarily supports facilities management and environmental activities taking place throughout the state with map products, spatial analysis, and database development. Maps and spatial analysis also support the needs of the Joint Force Headquarters, the Joint Operations Center, Civil Support Team, range managers, statewide training sites and other troop unit needs throughout the state.
GIS initiatives include:
- Geospatial property inventory of infrastructure
- Master planning, energy management and conservation
- Environmental conservation and compliance
- Training support
- Emergency response planning
- Troop stationing and equipment tracking
The SCARNG GIS group uses the ESRI software suite, including Desktop, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Server.
