FAMILY ASSISTANCE CENTER COORDINATOR AND SPECIALISTS

FACs will be activated as a multi-disciplinary humanitarian response to major events. The events can be natural/man-made disasters, or preparation for a large deployment. A FAC offers to persons affected by an event or mobilization and deployment a place to receive reliable and accurate information, referrals to obtain crisis/grief support, and benefits information.

FAMILY READINESS SUPPORT ASSISTANTS (FRSA)

Assist commanders in developing their Family Readiness Program and overseeing the operation of those groups. Also provide training and resources to the command and Family Readiness Group (FRG) Leaders. Ensure that any Soldier or family issues are referred to proper resources.

MILITARY AND FAMILY LIFE CONSULTANTS

The Military and Family Life Consultant is a licensed mental health professional who provides non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling services to military individuals, couples, families, children and groups. Facilitates educational groups addressing life skills and military lifestyle topics, including but not limited to: deployment and reunification, communication, stress management, couple related issues, grief/loss, and parenting.

PERSONAL FINANCIAL COUNSELOR

The Personal Financial Counselor provides financial counseling to include budgeting, debt management and long term planning. The PFC can also help families who are in need of financial assistance by getting them to the appropriate agencies. The PFC will travel as necessary to meet with service members, their families or civilians.

MILITARY ONE SOURCE

Military One Source provides resources for education, relocation, parenting, stress - you name it. Military One Source is here to help you with just about any need. Available by phone or online (www.militaryonesource.com), our free service is provided by the Department of Defense for Active-Duty, Guard, and Reserve service members and their Families.

CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAMS

Implements and facilitates training, readiness, and resilience programs for military youth. CYS provides Child and Youth referral and resources. Coordinates and supports child care for Yellow Ribbon events. CYS works with State and Federal agencies on youth projects.
